People at work are impressed with my weight loss! When I started my job three years ago I was a size 22. Then settled at a size 18. But since dieting and exercising last September/October I am now a size 10 (just!) I've lost 4 stone 8lbs. But according to the NHS BMI guidelines I have at least another 1 stone 5lbs to go. And that's to the highest end of "Healthy" instead of overweight.
If I was struggling or unhappy I might consider staying where I am but I am enjoying my food I eat and exercise I do. I didn't plan or think about what clothing size I wanted to be. Before my current success I always thought it would be a miracle to get to even 11 stone! But whilst the weight is coming off at a steady 1-2lbs a week I see no reason to stop?
And to be honest I so do not trust clothing sizes these days! I was a size ten twenty years ago but I know I am still bigger around the middle now than I was back then!

Well, its your body, its up to you! If the weight is still steadily coming off, and you aren't close to a healthy BMI yet, and you don't feel 'finished', then I would just roll onwards. You are doing fabulously well! I agree about clothes sizes - definitely more accommodating than 20 years ago!
I was just thinking about clothes sizes. In the past when I was at the weight I am now I was a 20-22 now I'm an 18. Its trousers that seem to have changed the most. Hope to get to a 16 soon.
If you are eating properly, in a way you can maintain for life, and are feeling energised and well, why stop because other people say so? Most people here find their weight loss slows right down and in that way, their body decides where it wants to be. Trust yourself (and the mirror) 😊
According to my scales (which I know lack an absolute accuracy) my body fat is currently 37%. I have a goal to at least get to 30% although 25% is supposed to be for the "average woman".
17% body fat it amazing! And I can't wait to be a maintainer like you!
Ooh I like that calculator! The US navy calculator puts my body fat at 34%! I've lost a lot on my neck! But although I have a narrower waist now I carry a lot in a "mother's apron". Which apparently from my research is unlikely to ever go without surgery
Well done on your weight loss and on changing your life style in a way that you now enjoy! I get similar reactions from people telling me enough is enough etc. I think a lot of those people have just gotten very used to the fact that on average people are overweight and especially if they are used to seeing us on the heavier side they can't quite fathom what a healthy weight looks like and get worried on our behalf. Intend to take the smile and wave approach to this.
