Hello, I have joined today, my problem is I am really overweight. 2 years ago I went on the weight management programme referred by my GP which was good. I lost 2 stone in the first 3 months whilst being supported by a dietitian, healthy eating advisers and an exercise group run by NHS trainers. After this I started to plateau and I was struggling. I was then told I had come to the end of the programme so was discharged and told I would be coming to the end of the exercise classes also. I felt as though I needed the support more than ever at this time and I have now gained the weight I lost.
Three months ago I was told I have AF and feel that I should be doing more to lose weight now but I just cannot get motivated at all, I work full time and feel really tired when I get home. Does anyone have any tips on getting motivated?

Hi Number9 - it can be difficult to get motivated so you might need to ask yourself what the main reason is for a lifestyle change. Remember this is not a diet but a change of life. You might have to confront what disappoints/ scares you most about staying as you are.
This is what worked for me - at what point do you say 'enough'. Do you really want to get to the point where you need someone else to wipe your backside because you can't reach? I hope you don't find this negative, it's not meant to be - it really is what motivated me. Good luck and let us know how you get on. We will all support you.
