Healing ruptured ligament

Hi, I'm looking to loose at least 18 KGS as I'm overweight and the extra weight has caused plantar fascias in both feet and I've fallen and ruptured my right anterior ligaments. With another 4 weeks off my feet I'm wondering if there are any diet tips anyone may be able to give me so I can drop KGS and get slimmer sooner.

Hi Mummy I had plantar faciatis when it was so sore I could not walk. It came on

after a spell of hot weather. I was later diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I used a combination of athletes foot cream and Neutrogena foot cream which is excellen to help the feet heal. I have been on a low carb diet which I can recommend to help you lose weight. I start the day with a slice of melon. I drink weak coffee, or mild Ribena with no added sugars, I can eat as much as 4 or five times a day, using protein foods, such as chicken meat, cottage cheese, with salads or vegetables other than potatoes, I can only eat oat biscuits due to intolernces with grains, but rye or crispbread can be used for snacks with fish or meat paste during the day. I have an evening meal with minced beef or steak, and eat fish several times a week served with green vegetables and leeks, broccoli.

I love swedes and baked squash, but they are higher in sugar. Drinking lactase free milk instead of ordinary cows milk can cut down on sugar in milk. Expect you know all this already - there is a good NHS website for diet think it's called healthy eating. I have to cut out savoury bisuits with added salt and sugar as this cause fluid retention. Bacon ham and some cheeses may be salty too but I enjoy some during the week. I find if I start eating milk chocolate or sweets - I will binge. This can make you give up but go back the next day and try again. We are all human and food is a comfort under stress. Recommend the NHS website as you can get encouragement when you lose weight and see how other people cope when their weight starts to increase if they go off the straight and narrow.

Strawberries and raspberries blackcurrants and blue berries can accelerate your metabolism. Some advisors think a high fat diet can help lose weight but from personal experience I found my fats and lipids rose, and so did my blood sugar. Hope you lose weight steadily over the next few weeks.

Hello and welcome to the forum Mummy15022010 😊

Sorry to hear about your pain, it must be very frustrating. Have you been given any advice about exercise? Could you do any floor or chair based movements? That said, for weight loss, it’s far more important to watch your food intake, and as hawii60 has said, carbohydrates in particular if you’re not moving very much.

If you haven’t already, then please read the Welcome post here which has lots of useful information about all the things we have on offer healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
