Sickness and keeping on track

So... My 3 year old and I have terrible coughs which are just exhausting.

I've been so good up till now both with eating and exercise but feel that slipping with the stress of caring for a sick little one and feeling under the weather myself. Any tips to keep going albeit without the exercise for now? Ps I can't wait for summer x

Same thing here. I’ve weighed myself for my weekly weigh in, and I’ve gone up 300 gr which isn’t bad considering no exercise at all and going over the top of my calories some days (only by 100 cal max). It’s hard, but won’t last forever, so just battle on. My son is off school 2 weeks, we’ve had colds, he had 2 days of fever and I “broke” my back picking him up!!

But this week looks better so here we go again!! Chin up!

Oh no poor you. This winter has been a series of colds for us and it's so frustrating. At Christmas I had three of five of us on antibiotics.... Like you say chin up. Thanks for your advice x

You are going through a tough time, my advice is to take a step back, this is the time to be kind and gentle to yourself both mentally and physically. Getting yourself feeling better is the important thing, you can refocus on weight loss after that. Try to remember veg and fruit will give you the minerals and vitamins to help overcome your sickness. I hope you and your daughter feel better soon, keep coming on here for support xx

Hi Maria821 That must be hard for you for taking care of a sick little one while you are recovering. I don't have kids but I too had a heavy cold and fever for about two weeks and still recovering. I'm back to work as I cannot take this much sick leaves and trying to keep my head up. But I did not engage in any exercises since I was sick and still didn't start any. I'm just eating healthy veggies, fruits, and fish for nutrients. And I'm having smaller portions specially I have no big appetite yet. I checked my weight last week and I have lost some and again checked yesterday and it looked I've maintained.

So my advice is, just give yourself some time/ a break from regular daily meals and exercises. Just do what the body asks only until you and your kid is fully recovered or else you will be fed up. Once you and your baby feel completely fine, you can have a fresh start :)
