So I’ve weighed myself today and the scales say 217lbs or 15 st 5lbs. I need help. I suffer from fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue and lost my mother in law and mum in the last year and a half.ive found myself secretly eating biscuits, cakes, chocolate late st night in bed and I also wake 3-4 times a night and eat then also. I don’t know where to start.

Welcome! You've taken the right first step by coming here. Please join in feet first - you get to know people better plus can benefit from their experiences and advice (and have a laugh!). Joining a weigh in day is particularly useful for mutual support - but have a look at all the other stuff too to see what's of interest to you.
Good luck - you can do it!
I started at c. 220 lb mid December 17.
Today, 14 months later I'm around 173 lb. Weighing in weekly and reporting whatever the result may be, getting feedback and giving others support has helped a lot. No-one is alone.
I aim to eat to about 80 % full and eat nothing after dinner. I consume a lot of calorie free herbal tea.
Good luck and best wishes to you. Rather than resorting to biscuits, maybe you can put anger, sadness or other difficult emotions on paper with sth solid like wax crayons. Sometimes I put layer over layer, and then I sometimes scratch out some finer lines, words or whatever. It's not art, but it feels good
Good morning Bontas. I am sorry you have had such a horrible year or so. It's so easy to use food as a comfort in emotional times. You will find so much support here and from lots of people with similar health problems to yourself too ( myself included) It sounds like you have got into a habit of eating at night time if you can find a way to change that it would be a good start. I wish you well and am sure you will get lots of suggestions from The lovely people on this site. 😊
I have a similar condition to CFS so cannot exercise. I wonder if you are getting low blood sugar at night part of the condition. I too get biscuit cravings at night & wake hungry in middle if no pre bed snack. I have a small snack before bed of a small glass of 200 ml skim milk & an oatcake which is 100 cal & managing to sleep through. So sorry for your losses x

Thank you for taking the time to reply x your suggestion is a good one and I will give this a go. I’ve found sticking to 1400 calories a day is making me tired so I have slept the last two nights so long may it continue x
You will find 1400 calories is too low for your weight, Bontas. The 1400 is a generic amount, and suits very few people. If you put your details into the bmi checker, it will give you a range of calories & it's recommended that you start near the high end. Going too low will make your body go into starvation mode & it will hang on to everything, making weight loss nigh on impossible, not to mention making you tired and fed up & more likely to give up 😊 good luck
