Hi and welcome, BeckiMoore
If you concentrate on the whole journey, you will feel overwhelmed. It's better to break that journey down into small, manageable pieces, eg 7lbs, reached by following a healthy lifestyle, rather than by dieting.
Follow this link to our chat thread and a list of all the activities we run. We've found active participation to be key to success, especially with our weigh-ins.

Welcome on board on good luck on your journey!! It can seem daunting at first but if you have the right mind set and stick at it I'm sure you can get there!
Hey BeckiMoore - let me draw your attention to Hidden 's weight loss in his badge, right there! He is a particularly inspirational forum member. And I see Joanney69 below as well...!
You can definitely do this, if you start and keep going.
I have "only" lost 2 stone and it has made me so much healthier and happier. It took me 5 months. Weight loss is fastest at the beginning, in my experience, which is good if it happens to you as it's very encouraging.
Good luck and look forward to seeing you around especially on the Daily Diary where we record our plans for the day's food - that has really kept me on track (well, most of the time!) and I have had loads of support and top ideas.
Hello, and welcome BeckiMoore to the best weight loss support group ever 😊
Welcome to the forum, BeckiMoore 😊 losing 5 stone may seem impossible, but trust me, it's not - I have done exactly that 😊 still plodding on with my journey, but there's no rush, no finishing date, it's a healthy eating plan for life 😊
I would second what moreless said, don't look at the total amount you want to lose, that seems too big a mountain to climb - break it down into the first half stone, or getting into the next stone down, it soon adds up. And use the forum as much as you can, join a weigh in on whatever day suits you best (I host the Saturday Superstars 💫 every other week 😊) the help here has made a world of difference to me 😊 💪
Good luck
Hi, I joined this group 2 days ago and can assure you it is a wonderful group with loads of helpful information. My only tip is don't say that you want to lose 5 stone but instead you want to change your lifestyle. Once you do that then the weight will drop. From my own experience by starting off saying im dieting and want to lose 3 stone I put an automatic pressure on myself. This time I have said I want to change my lifestyle and for now I have, and I find it dare i say it more enjoyable. Good luck
Hiya
Take it 1 day at a time. Set yourself small acheiveable goals. Plan ahead by batch cooking and freezing. And keep coming on here for help and advice.
Think of a mantra like:
I can and I will
Good luck
