Since retiring i am heavier than I have ever been and am eating more. We eat healthy home cooked food but I have a sweet tooth and have a drink every night. I play badminton and tabletennis. Also do dancing. I have tried to lose weight, but as we socialise each week i find it too hard to refuse drink. I need to lose 1 st. Now Christmas is coming up where do I get the willpower to say No.

Hi and welcome, Benjoshsam :)

Sometimes it's the choice of food/drink we make, that can lead to overeating, so have a look at these and see if they'll help healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

For me, the joy of socialising, is the company I keep, not the food and drink that's on offer :)

Hi Benjoshsam you have come to the right place where you will get so much support and encouragement. You will find people have lots of wonderful ideas which might help you. I can understand this is a difficult time of year to lose weight but keep coming here and hopefully you will find the willpower you need:) Sounds like you have a great social life and do lots of exercise. Maybe when you have a drink try having a glass of water with it as well. I find I have a drink and water so alternate between them. With the sweet tooth maybe you could try only eating half of a dessert or just keep cutting down bit by bit. Good luck on your journey to a lighter you:)
