Stye on Left Eye (Upper Lid)

Hi, hope you guys are doing well.

I have been to Doctor yesterday and he told me there is Stye on the upper lid of my left eye. He gave me some medicine and antibacterial eye ointment.

There is little bit of swelling also and I feel irritation and soreness due to this. Any home remedy you can tell me will be highly appreciated.

Warm regards

My Mum used to get me to do a steam bath (head over a bowl of boiling water, towel over head and around bowl).

Be careful though - don't scald yourself!

Cotton wool compress in warm/hot salt water - don't rub your eye just hold the pad on 😊 Hope it helps, styes are horrible 😩

A warm tea bag placed over the stye is supposed to help. Have to say it is quite soothing, not sure it helps to get rid of it though🤔

I did try this and it gives a soothing effect on my eye, the swelling on eye is 60% gone but Stye is still there 😕

I have had a few styes over the last few years - possibly as a result of wearing eye make-up most of the time. Tried applying warm compresses a few times a day for several days but this did not seem to help. They did eventually go away on their own. When I had the most recent one I did rub my eyelid with my gold wedding ring feeling a bit sceptical/stupid as I did so. I only did this once and within a week it had disappeared. Coincidence or faith? I really don't know. Nothing to lose so give it a try.

Hi Quizzer, thanks for your reply. I am a grown adult man so makeup is not an issue for me 🙂 I see you what you were trying to say though, I will try the gold ring as you suggested. Got nothing to lose! 🙏🏻
