I see most of the people in my life on a daily basis so I'm not surprised that anyone it yet to to notice or comment on my weight loss.
Last night however I went to see my beautician who I haven't seen for 4 weeks. Within seconds of walking in the room she commented on my weight loss (no one knows I'm my journey apart from other half). Now normally I'd have responded with a 'maybe a bit' or a 'well, I'm trying' or anything else to not quite acknowledge it. But this time I thought, no, you've done really well, take the compliment for what it is and stop shying away from the effort and hard work you've put it. And you know what it felt really good to say 'yes I have, thanks for noticing'.
What made it even a little bit more special was that I wasn't wearing anything flattering or something that accentuated an area I know I've lost weight in. I was just wearing my joggers and T-shirt so if anything clothing that would hide the loss and not show it of.
My challenge to myself now is to accept compliments when given. If someone is going to the effort to give them then the least I can do it acknowledge them so Im going thank them and squirrel it away to reflect back on when needed.

That's fantastic Chelle. You deserve to be given compliments after making an effort to lose weight. A similar thing happened to me yesterday when I popped into work without my not very flattering uniform! A colleague told me I was looking slim. Like you I would usually shrug this off with a sarcastic reply but I was taken aback and said 'thank you, I have lost 6lbs in 3 weeks'. Keep up the good work and you will get your just reward.
When you were heavier a non observant husband was probably a plus. Could it be that you are still wearing the same clothes so he can't see your achievement? Time to go out and buy something new and maybe a little more fitted. And remember he has to carry everything from now on, because he doesn't think 2 stone makes a difference.
