Bizarre hunger patterns

I am battling a very weird sense of appetite: I can go days without feeling hungry at all and then others I feel like I'm going to collapse if I don't eat something in the next hour! Is there any explanation for this? I had one day where I ate loads of channa masala and then needed food again in the evening, and I had another day where I literally ate soup and was fine. Very confusing.

Meals high in carbs may disrupt blood sugar levels and invoke an insulin response, followed by a crash, which will cause you to feel hungry.

Chick peas are carbohydrate and if you ate the curry with rice/chapatti/naan/poppadom, that would have increased the carb content and the insulin response.

Fasting/soup, wouldn't have had the carbs, insulin response and subsequent hunger.

That's my thought, as a lay person :)

I was just going to suggest sim8lar to Morelss, keep a record of what you eat and try to spot the patterns, for example, if I have a dessert the next day I’m hungrier than the days I don’t

Otherwise, accept that some days you are hungrier and just work around it, eating less calrories some days than others.
