Welcome to the forum and on taking the first most important step. i, like you, have battled with my weight all my life and had reached 21 stones by 2009. on 1 January 2017 I joined this group having gor down to 19 stones 9 lbs myself. i had BMI of 50.4 Followed the 12-week plan for a couple of rotations and started a food diary - I'm on day 596 today and still write down everything I eat.
my thoughts are that it's taken me 55 years to become overweight so losing it is a long-term investment in me. I'm not on a diet but a new way of life. as an overweight person I tend to obsess about food - I've taken up various activities to distract me (healthy active ones mostly) but the temptation to relapse is still strong. i do write down calories when this happens and compensate over next few days to recover. There's no easy way I'm afraid - just plan your meals, avoid buying temptation, and tell yourself how much better you will feel (it's true - I do).
this is all about me but I hope it can be all about you too. good luck!
New day, new start. Just take one day at a time, one pound off at a time. I am keeping a diary (paper one!) and jotting down during the day and/or at the end of the day all the good stuff I've done - even things like drunk a glass of water. Lots and lots of little steps and you can get there. Good luck!
Don't worry about your weight Pb1961. Stop worrying. You are still alive so must be doing something right which means that you already know what to do - just build on it. If you can walk - walk, if you can drink - drink water, if you can eat - eat fruit, if you know someone you can trust- ask them to check up on you by text once a week.
Once you realise you enjoy those things ( and appreciate being nagged!) take it to the next step because unlike now you will actually look forward to that
Cheers

I feel you, I am in the same situation. These days I feel plagued with an insatiable appetite. It doesn't help that there is food everywhere in my office. I keep pretending to be strong in hopes that it will take hold sooner or later. Since I have done it before, I know I can do it, I just keep trying to hold steady at the least and lose a little if I can.
