Hi and welcome to the forum, someone from admin will be along soon or tomorrow to welcome you properly with some links for you to look at explaining how to use the site safely and what your bmi is and what range of calories you should be eating to get to your ideal weight in a safe gradual way. Try staying in between your range that it sets you as you won’t feel hungry which is one of the main reasons that people fail. We have a page called daily diary where people put down what they are planning to eat the next day. I think you’ll find some good healthy meal ideas on there. There is also the Nhs 12 week plan which has a meal plan for you to follow but it is set for 1400 calories which might not be in your range but you can alter it to suit.

Hope I haven’t bored you to death with the length of the message but there is lots on here that can help you, so join in with as much as you want and ask as many questions you need to as someone on here has most probably tried it and can say if it works or not so don’t be afraid to ask.

So welcome once again and enjoy your lifestyle change in losing the weight.

Pete

hello and welcome Zoemad-04! you have to remember not to call this a diet but a new way of living to ease you into it. it truly is a new and better and more fulfilling way of eating and I am sure you have gotten or will get response from an administrator soon. they will give you all the good links to go to read and get started on. my advice is to not sneaky eat, where no one will see you cuz you know what you ate anyway. I recommend always eating at the dinner table when possible and make it an event, even with snacks. use a plate and fork even with snacks and drink lots of water with all meals. these are the things I do (mostly) and it helps me tremendously. good luck and chin up!

I never thought of eating all the meals at a table . I will give that a go starting today . Thank you once again.

Great advice on here already - i'd just add to that planning!

Plan your meals to be less tempted to grab things on the go - Budda72 mentioned the daily diary which is a great place to help plan and keep to a plan!

Good luck on your journey :)

I'm on week 5 of "new life" and am still writing down everything I eat and drink in a little notebook plus the calories. It sounds like a pain but I think when you're just starting it's really useful. There are loads of different approaches and theories about what kind of food is best - the main agreement seems to be stick to natural and avoid processed! There'll be loads of advice from more experienced people than me and lots of support so my only other advice is find what suits you and still lets you enjoy eating!
