Hi I’m looking for for someone to help with motivation, everyday i get up and it’s going to be different until I sit down and realise I just ate half the kitchen.
I have 4 stone to lose gave myself a deadline of 1st August that was last nov and I had lost some doing slimming world but recently quit again..... because I wasn’t losing fast enough to warrant the £5 a week but now I’m back to the weight I was when I started 🤨
I know all the things I should and shouldn’t eat and I know I need to move more but I just find it incredibly hard to motivate myself.
Ps any tips for posting profile pics as everyone I have posted all I see is my large forehead 😂😂😂

This weight loss thing is with us for life sadly - not just until we get slim. I have lost stones, gained stones and lost some again ….currently half way between my worst and best weights, but determined to get on top of this problem.
I have decided that you have to live life one day at a time; forget yesterdays mistakes and start each day afresh with a plan; choose wisely, shop sensibly and plan meals around the day's events so you are never left alone in the house hungry and surrounded by temptation! Stay focussed on the benefits of being fit and healthy; looking better, clothes fitting comfortably, being able to walk, cycle, ride and enjoying better health generally.
Hi Collette__ , remind yourself of what you have to gain by losing those pounds; write it down if that helps, and pin it somewhere to remind yourself. That's your motivation.
To keep it topped up, get involved here every day, post your plans in the Daily Diary (that definitely keeps me on track), join a weekly weigh-in if you haven't already, read posts, just generally join in
Hi Colette. I had 1.5 stone to lose which I did and it has stayed off. I'm aiming for another 1/2 stone. Not all ideas work for everyone but here are a couple of mine:
1. I signed up to nutracheck online diet club and did find that very useful tho I really only used the diary. Writing it all down is a big motivator.
2. I think 5:2 works. Two days a week ( not consecutive) you only eat 500 calories. Because it's just a day you can do it! Normal calorie allowance other days (1200 for me).
3. Identify what matters to you. If you really like a bit of chocolate with your evening cuppa ' budget's calories for it. That way you don't feel dieting is all about denial.
4. Weigh things that are high calorie. I measure out 30 grams of the spreadable butter- I put on bread and keep it out of fridge. (Goes further if soft). That's 2 days ration.
Hi Collette, I feel very much like you do ! life gets in the way. Last night for example I had my bag packed ready to go to the gym when my sister in law turned up, she stayed long enough to make it not worth leaving the house to go to the gym - as it was nearing closing time !
Foodwise - I'm actually not too bad. Although there are occasions when I drink my calories !!! lol
I need the motivation to get off my backside and get moving more.
I live in Manchester - if you were close we could buddy up.
Keep at it - every little bit you do will count in the end !
I know how you feel. I have been 2 and then 3 stone overweight this last year. I got poorly and didn't take that much notice of my weight , or , I did but didn't do anything about it, just thought about it as we do.
I really feel out of condition and am positive loosing this extra weight would help things along. Definitely out of condition. I have walked for half an hour today, puffing. Eating not good, bacon and egg sandwhich for breakfast, slice of muesli for 11's. Bowl muesli banana and yogurt for lunch. On my walk stopped for a cup of tea and then had to spoil it with a penguin. Our Friday treat will be a shish kebab with lovely salad and few chips for dinner!.
I am trying, though I do not feel as though I am getting anyway. I shall join your thread and see if someone out there can motivate us both. Maybe we will make it, as someone said its another day tomorrow! 😊 All the best
