Hello and I am glad to part of this community. Although I don't know what to expect, I am putting myself in a space where I need to change my eating habits, learn to balance food and excercise more. I am positive about this journey and hope to do something different and lose weight. Thank you for readimg and hope to read as many stories along the way.
I have downloaded the NHS weight loss app and now have to get my head around smaller portions. I hope to win

Great attitude! I started 4 months ago and have discovered a few things. First is that while you have to be careful about the portion size of Calorie-rich food, this doesn't mean you have to eat child size meals - simply find ways to include more Calorie-light foods eg, make root vegetable mash instead of all-potato mash, instead of ice cream have frozen yoghurt (Moo2Yoo is gorgeous). Don't think of any foods as 'sins'. Enjoy a small portion of favourite treat occasionally - make it special by presenting it on a plate and savouring every single mouthful - think Japanese Tea Ceremony rather than a quick cuppa! Finally, think of your Calorie limit as a weekly average, not a daily goal - that way you can save up Calories for evenings out and special occasions. All the best - I'm sure you're going to do well.
Do you know that really encouraged me as getting into this calarie counting is like learning a new language. I have written every thing I have eaten down, but tomorrow I may have to plan a little bit more so that I can stay in a routine. Will definitely think about Calorie light foods and a weekly average. How has your journey been this far? Sound like you have a great attitude towards weight loss.
