Hi I'm 59 and have been fighting this losing weight battle for 30 years now. I'm truly sick of it. My joints are paining after walking any distance. I have yoyo'd my weight for so long but find the older I get, the harder it is to lose weight. I have lots to lose and don't want to be a burden to my family as I get older. I have spent a fortune over the years joining clubs, therapy and motivation clinics.
I really want to do out this time.

Thank you for your reply. It seems I've a lot to learn. 130g of carbs and low GI carbs?
Are you saying... I'm too have normal milk and no beans? I tend to use low fat everything. But also mostly fresh fruit & veg. Where can I find the 12 week plan on this site?
Welcome to this forum EvaGC . You are better off having normal mil than low fat. low fat products have been processed more and are not satiating and nourishing as such. Opt to have healthy whole meals that are nourishing and satiating. It will help keep you full longer and wade off cravings that impact negatively on our weight loss journeys.
It important that you also compute your daily calorie range as recommended in the NHS 12 week programme and seek to work within your range.
Well done on taking that first step, and I can sympathise with difficulty losing weight as we get older. And as Concerned rightly suggests, as we get older, carbohydrates in particular can be problematic. For years we have been told to avoid fat and fill our plates with pasta, but it seems moderate amounts of good wholesome foods (from all food groups) is the way forward. I am slowly re-introducing full fat dairy but it feels so wrong doesn’t it?
