Feeling so sorry for myself! Spent the weekend in agony with sore hip and numb leg (still mobile thank goodness). Visit to walk in surgery tomorrow but couldn’t resist Googling symptoms. Meralgia pareasthetica. One of the main causes? Obesity! Well, it cannot be any clearer can it? After getting the leg/hip sorted I’ve no choice. First grandchild due in August so I need to be in better health. Can I do it after a lifetime of eating disorders? Scary not being able to turn to food for all my emotional needs.

Good luck with your first week.
Welcome to the forum. Sometimes a very clear (and scary) wake up call is what we need to draw a line under life before and start afresh. Hope it goes well today at the docs and best of luck on your weight loss journey
Hi Jacky
A wake up call of pre diabetes did it for me. From the day I was told and researched what that meant I went on a strict diet and increased exercise routine.
I lost 3 stone in 12 weeks and I have managed to keep my weight stable since then for 5 months. I can’t tell you how much better I feel not dragging that weight around with me and the delight I have in being almost as slim as I was 50 years ago. I have 3 children and seven grandchildren the oldest of whom is 18 years. So it can be done and you can do it too.
Best wishes for your success in finding a new you
