Ok I need to lose weight and need inspiration. I already do tons of exercise and I'm vegetarian so eat fairly healthily so how do I do this? Portion size? Starvation?

Absolutely not starvation!! Small changes in portion size may be all it takes 😊

Have a good look around and read all the links Minniewinny has given you

Good luck 😊

Anna beat me to it - definitely not starvation :) There seems to be a general feeling that we should suffer in order to lose weight, but the reality is that's the main reason people give up - it's miserable and it isn't sustainable.

Maybe you need to take a little time looking at what you're eating, recording everything, work out the calorie content and then decide where you need to make changes. You can use the NHS BMI calculator to find a calorie range at which you will lose weight and take it from there. Good luck!

Hi jodee88

I was vegetarian for several years but found it very hard to eat enough protein. I tended to eat a lot of carbs and as a result I put on weight and was very bloated

I think it important to analyse the content of your diet to see whether you are depending too much on carbs and to check how much protein you take

Best wishes

I'm vegetarian too. I use the myfitnesspal ap to track calories. It also tells you how much protein / carbs etc you are eating if you log all the food you eat.

I think so long as you stick to the amount of calories advised on the NHS BMI calculator you should lose weight slowly and steadily (that is if you are in the BMI overweight category?).

Planning is key for me and portion size too (which I am not so good at!). Good luck!
