Day 1 wake up call 😱

I had a huge wake up call when I stepped on the scales this morning. I was a lot heavier than I thought in fact a stone heavier since I last weighed a few months ago. Rather than let it get me down it made me more determined to do something about it. I responded by doing a workout. I'm going to try and do one of Leslie Sandsone's walking workouts everyday this month to get me more active. The other wake up call I had was when I weighed put my food portion for lunch and counted the calories. I was surprised how many calories was in the bowl in front of me. It was a lot more than I imagined and I would normally have double that size portion. I think my portion sizes have been out of control so I think tracking calories will help to ensure I don't overeat and train me to get used to a more normal portion. My target for January is to follow the 12 week plan and track my calories each day. I also want to do one walking workout per day. I have no set limit I want to lose this month I just want to get used to new habits and whatever the loss is will be a bonus. All the best to everyone who is making a new start for a healthier 2018 πŸ‘Š

Excellent. Well done for stepping on the scales this morning. There'll be a lot of scales dodgers this morning ! If that's your wake-up call then you've got the rest of the year to take action. Your plan sounds great. Let us know how you are getting on. I weighed myself this morning after steeling myself and telling myself I had to.

What a brilliant attitude! :) it's so easy to get down over weight increase but you sound like you've bounced back and you're ready to tackle it! you'll lose that weight in no time. Good luck with all of your amazing changes - even small changes add up to make a big difference!

I was extremely shocked when I first started calorie counting and found I'd been eating 1000ish calories of pasta for dinner :o ontop of all of my other food! How very gluttonous, but I would just eat until it was gone. They should teach portion control classes! :)

I look forward to hearing how well you get on! You can do it! :)
