Hi all. I haven't posted for months. Decided after our summer holiday that I was finally ready to tackle my anxiety, which has ruled me for decades. Having given up alcohol on Jan 1st, I was no longer prepared to hide behind that wine fog, and faced things stone cold sober. It's been incredibly hard and some lifelong issues have come to the fore.. I finally had a meltdown at work a month ago. My counsellor suggested I saw my Dr, and he has been brilliant. Although I'm now on anti-ds for a while I am so determined to now move forward. I've been at my lowest, and I'm now ready to tackle my weight. I never thought I was worth bothering with, but I'm working on my self esteem. The photo on today's page about getting back on track was the first thing I saw - a sign I need to be back here. So today I'm going to start to make some small changes towards a healthier life.

Welcome back and you are so worth it ❤️ I know it’s hard when you feel down as I’ve been there too but you need to think of yourself because you are unique there’s only one of you, so you’re very much worth looking after💐 Well done on giving up alcohol and now you can see what’s ahead of you without the wine haze😢
Glad you are getting GP help and we are all here to support and spur you on if you can do this around the festive period there will be no stopping you in January etc
Good. Luck on day 1 of the new you👍
Thank you! We've managed to plan quite a quiet Christmas this year, as I didn't want to have to cater for too many at the moment. My daughter said that we don't need a massive food shop this year as it's just the four of us on Christmas day, so we've all just picked one thing each we'd like for Christmas lunch! No pressure lunch for once!
A good idea to choose one thing each. Hope you have a fab relaxing day.
Welcome back, Sarah. It must have taken courage to share your problems with us. However you know what they say, ' a problem shared is a problem halved' and I'm sure you know we will all be here for you in tackling your issues. You've come a long way so good luck for the rest of your journey.💐
PS. What a great idea for making Christmas less stressful👍

I haven't met you before, Sarah, but I wish you every success in making the changes you need.
I, too, reached a very low point a year ago and had to make some radical changes (including alcohol and a longstanding friendship which had turned toxic) and address the anxiety that was inhibiting me in the choices I made. I feel some of that oppression has lifted and - like you - I'm showing myself a bit more respect and dealing with my weight and wellbeing
Thank you, and well done marymanc. I think once you've made a decision to change, that's half the battle, even if it's a long journey! Everyone has made me feel very welcome today, which is lovely, and will hopefully spur me on. X
Welcome!!
