If you don't think you can cut sugar out completely try cutting down.
I tried it for a while last year and succeeded for a few months. What I did learn from it is that I don't need to use the full amount of sugar suggested when baking. By using less everything actually has a flavour rather than just a mouthful of sugary sweetness. Similar with anything else that has sugar in it. You get to experience the actual taste of the food
I definitely eat the wrong stuff when I'm emotional. You're doing the right thing and sharing it. It takes courage to share so honestly. I've gone without carbs for five weeks and the obsession is definitely less, but I have to say the first 3 weeks were SO difficult. You're not on your own.
Sorry to hear your feeling low today MrJoshua . Try not to be too hard on yourself for having a bad day we all get them, just start afresh tomorrow. Some member seem to be having good results on the Blood sugar Diet but I haven't tried it myself.
Hope tomorrow is a better day for you.
The only sugar I have is from fruit. I have done that since June, no problems. Good luck!
Please check your private messages. I hope the note helps.
Hi I've been sugar-free including fruit for 3 weeks and am loving it. I no longer feel a slave to food and like you not snacking which means I feel freer and healthier. I'm doing I Quit Sugar with Sarah Wilson. Not eating fruit even for ay least 8 weeks helps because even 'healthy' sugars had me reaching for mrore. Sugar is addictive and I feel it's good to break its cycle of heights and slumps.
Aww no sorry to hear you are feeling low today 😧 don’t worry about what you ate yesterday today is a new day 🤗
I still can’t break the chains of sugar (yet) I have at least two hot drinks a day (tea or coffee) with a teaspoon of sugar in each plus I also HAVE to have a hot chocolate everyday at the moment 🙈 On this basis I try to limit any additional treats to either dark chocolate every once in a while or a piece of cake or a dessert probably once every other week (maybe once a week at most). I think if I eat too much sugar I just feel like I need more of it and also feel hungry not long after. I know at some point I would like to move away from the sugary drinks but I’m not quite there yet 😔 so am very interested in this topic.
I hope you have a much better day today, be kind to yourself 🍀
Hello MrJoshua I am so sorry you are feeling low today. When we look out of the window first thing and it is grey and cold or raining then it’s no wonder we feel depressed. If you are an emotional eater then it is understandable how easy it would be to eat the wrong things.
Try cutting sugar down, or completely out for a while to see if this helps. Do you have much sugar currently? The main thing is that you don’t give up, and you keep talking to us. Best wishes EJ
I ate a £3 box of Maltesers and a pack if sweets and 150gm if crisps. The goo thing is I didnt carry on today as a food binge can last week's or months. Thanking you for posting
It’s especially difficult at this time of year as you can’t go into a shop without being bombarded with shelves of chocolates, mince pies, and all the other treats that go with Christmas. I just don’t buy anything now as once I start eating them I find it difficult to stop. Those large tubs of chocolates (Roses, Quality Street etc), are sent by the devil to tempt us 😈. Stay strong EJ
