.... in this little pile of nuts and raisins?
I have measured them out - clearly can't tell you the precise quantities. Contains brazils, hazelnuts, almonds, pecans, cashews and flame raisins.
Answer comes later!

My guess, in the region of 200 calsπ

300-350 calories..?
My guess is the squirrels are fuming

I'm thinking at least 500 calories may be even closer to 950 as you've got brazils and cashews in there as well as the fruit?
So 3 x brazils, about 6 hazlenuts, 4 pecan halves, about 7 almonds, 15g of cashews and 20g of flame raisins....
Keep guessing!
I'll go for 550! Good game!
Mfp suggests 494..
Wow, such a little bowl of lots of calories that could easily be eaten without looking!!
I'm guessing each type of nut is a single 100cal portion, the raisins another 150, so that's 550 same as Dietbunny2 - too lazy to actually check on mfp though sorry!
Ah! Didn't work it out like that. Just put in a few of each, but measured the weight. Counted the larger nuts but used weight of raisins... cashews.
My guess is 200 calories π. Good game though π
I'm increasing from 180 to 300 since you described how many nuts and raisins in the pot!
A lot! π
I wouldn't /couldn't begin to guess how many calories there are and to be honest I wouldn't even attempt to find out. My thinking is they are part of my healthy eating and they are good for me. Many people avoid nuts as they regard them as high calorie. I regularly have a handful of nuts as a snack.
This is my point really.... they ARE healthy, but also very moreish... If like me, ones calorie allowance is low (because I am not active and very short), even healthy snacks have to be carefully moderated - which is why I have measured out this small pot (in fact, about 4 of them, all fairly identical!)
And it is also about having this information to be able to make an informed choice - for example, a handful of nuts and raisins OR that slice of home made cake at a friends house... but possibly for me, not being able to "afford" the calories for both.
Very true Pineapple27 people often avoid them. I have mixed nuts most days as part of my healthy eating. I have a wee pot that I pour them into and that is my portion. I have hereditary lymphoedema and I'm pescetarian and sometimes if I have just had fruit and veg and I feel as though I need something solid that a handful of nuts just meets that need. Due to my lymphoedema I have to watch my carbohydrate intake as it encourages my body to retain fluid.
224 Calories
Almonds, Average (9g) 56.0
Cashew Nuts, Plain (15g) 87.7
Hazelnuts, Blanched (5g) 33.0
Brazil Nuts 8g (55.3)
Flame Raisins, (20g) 58.6
TOTAL = 290.6 calories
Tiggerr guessing 281 was the closest.... Out by just 9.6 calories!
Tiggerr is a star πππβοΈπ
Arrggghh! I have to remove Tiggerr 's winners title! Someone on another site I used pointed out that I'd forgotten to include the pecan nuts (7g = 48.5 cals) so in fact:
Almonds, Average (9g) 56.0
Cashew Nuts, Plain (15g) 87.7
Hazelnuts, Blanched (5g) 33.0
Brazil Nuts 8g (55.3)
Flame Raisins, (20g) 58.6
Pecans (7g) 48.5
TOTAL = 339.1 calories
So there are two close guesses - Minniewinny who guessed 300 - 350 (which clearly gave her a better chance!) and Hidden who guessed 300! Well done both of you! You are joint winners!
Would folk like me to do a few more of these? Picture of food - guess the calories?
Ooh definitely do more of these please Pineapple and not just because I jointly won with Minniewinny π. I do eat a lot of nuts and have about 10 jars of nuts and seeds in my fridge. (Sorry Tiggerr).
I guessed 300 before I scrolled. I'd eat the nuts but stear clear of the dried fruit - too much sugar for my body.
Good game.... More please π
