Hi everyone. Im new to this , im currently on slimming world but for the last so many months my weight has been up and down and ive just been messing about. Im going to attempt calorie counting and working on changing my eating habits as i am a bad binge eater . I understand calorie counting but the only thing that i think would be difficult to work out is things like veg and salad. Say for example you have a big side salad with your dinner. How do you go about counting that? I would appreciate any advice as i currently feel really down with my weight. Ive been binge eating alot lately and have put on 8lbs over the past month alone. Im still about 20lbs down since last year but i dont want to gain all that back and i still have around 2.5 st to lose .
Thanks
Debs

Hi and welcome Hidden
I would like to invite you to join our Newbie Club, which we hope will be a good place for you to connect with members, who are also just starting out, or re-starting.
If you just post a few words on the November Newbie Club thread to introduce yourself and respond to others there you will soon feel part of the club.
I use two methods with salads. I either put my plate on the scales and arrange the salad onto it. Which means I am weighing each ingredient and writing it down as I go to calculate later. Or I put a small container on the scale and put all the ingredients for my portion into it. Again weighing and writing a I go. Then I pop the lid on and give it a shake to mix it all and tip onto my plate.
Veges are similar but I will put a small container on the scale and put each item straight from the pot into the container, record the weight then put it onto my plate - one at a time.
Hope this helps
I also found a site online that gives calorie count for food and is easy for me to use. I use the same site all the time so that the calories are always standard each time, rather than jumping between several sites as they may vary a little with each one.
My daughter says that 80% of loosing weight is exercise also you can eat as much veg, fruit, and salads they are all free. You do need fibre and plenty of fluids. Also eggs, chicken and fish for protein. Pasta and rice. Than just watch your treats and stay away from processed food and sugars. Hope this has helped. 👍
I don't count veg or fruit as long as it's eaten raw or boiled. At the moment I buy the £1 stew packs..most supermarkets sell it. It's carrots leek swede onion. I boil the lot with garlic salt and pepper. When soft I blend with soya milk to make a creamy soup without the cream. All free in weight watchers. If I had to count calories it would be the milk. If you put dressings on your salad or cook your veg in oil..you must count the oil and dressing. However I'm struggling with weight watchers which is why I'm here and I'm on my 3rd good day after months of bad days with weight watchers. Maybe like me you just need variety and review your meat etc and how you cook it..baked with all skin off is safest. Im not giving up ww just yet. I hope you get back to loosing weight and we'll done for getting this far..celebrate with a nice bath good book and loads of lovely smellies
