Newbie - Recommended Calories?

I have just completed the calorie/BMI calculator and it is suggesting that I have a calorie intake of between 1572 an 2002 KCals? Ive been trying to lose weight by sticking to 1000 KCals a day as I am currently immobile. Does this sound like a lot?

1000 calories won't be enough. I am sick st the moment burnt Fitbit tells me for my weight (18 stone 2) that I am burning 2000 a day (I burn about 2800 when I am Working) so even though you weigh less than me I think 1000 is too low. You can still lose weight by eating a bit more. Good luck

If you eat too few calories, among many other reasons not to, you will find it very hard to stick to. Its a life change not a quick fix.

Yes I realise that now after researching. Im currently immobile as I've broken bones in my foot and have to keep it elevated so I thought reducing the intake would balance the lack of movement! I suppose just need to find a balance. Thank you for your reply.

Hope you get back on your feet soon, it must be frustrating. Someone posted a great quote on here a while ago - 'you can't outrun a good diet' - its true - whilst exercise is important, what you eat has the most impact on your weight. By the time you're out exercising again, you'll have your diet all sorted out and really get maximum benefit.
