Not being able to loose weight easily due to many factors; Meds, diet, lack of mobility, health issues and other factors, I took up running.
It is actually walk > jog > run from 0k to 5k. I am no Mo Farah and I still walk most of the distance but gradually each week the distance I walk is reduced by the the distance I run.
Other than changing to a higher protein diet, my intake has not changed but I have been rewarded with a 16lb weight loss over the last 6 weeks.
As I am recovering from open-heart surgery, my quest is not easy but I try.
You never know what can be achieved until one tries......
Does anyone else walk or run for weight loss?

I used to run and will again, when I'm of the IC, but never really felt that it helped me lose weight, although it was great for my fitness levels, toning and general well-being. It did make maintenance easier too.
I continue to walk, as I feel it's good for all of us to keep moving, in whatever capacity we're able.
Well done on your loss and good luck with your recovery
Hi moreless sorry to read you are still on the IC what a proper pain in the derriere, hope it's not getting you down...you have my heartfelt sympathy. I'll be so chuffed to see you back running
