The steps to reduce weight without going to a gym.

There are many simple lifestyle habits that can help you lose weight, some of which have nothing to do with conventional diet or exercise plans. You can use smaller plates, eat more slowly, drink water and avoid eating in front of the TV or computer. Prioritizing foods rich in protein and viscous fiber may also help.

Welcome lucyajones

All valid points and if you would like more you can find them in the NHS 12 week plan. A link to this is on the right hand side, when you scroll down from the home page.

Good luck!

I agree! We always eat our meals at a table which is properly laid with placesettings.

Drinking a large glass of water alongside a meal will also help to satiate one's appetite.

Sitting in front of the television night after night when there are so many advertisements which feature food doesn't help to take one's mind off the food!

I also put any treats out of sight, into a tin and away from view. They are there if I really want one but they're not there constantly in my face.

For me what has ensured my success is to plan, plan some more, be prepared and also just keeping a log of everything that I eat.

If we were preparing for a long car journey we would use a map to ensure we took the most direct route. We have a rough idea of where we want to go and we may well end up there eventually but it would take us a very long time or we may get lost and head a totally the wrong direction so I view logging food as looking at my map. It helps me to get to where I need to be efficiently by the shortest route. If I get lost along the way my food logging enables me to see where I went wrong!
