Hi I'm a newbie here. Looking for motivation from everyone who's in the same boat. I lost 2 stone and then put 1 back on! Ugh! I work nights permanently and am constantly tired from little sleep. I did ok before with diet and exercise but now I have all good intentions and then seem to fall at the first hurdle. I'm in the obese section as well which is depressing cuz I don't look that big but obviously things need to change. I don't lose weight easily or quickly so it does become a chore and really hard work but it would be great if I could lose a stone for Christmas which to be fair should be achievable.

Hello last ditch attempt

It must be very hard working nights all the time and also trying to lose weight

I think you need to make a realistic plan as to how you will do it. There is a diet plan on here and if you work out your BMI you will see how many calories you can eat today and still lose weight.

Basically it’s essential to keep a food diary I know exactly how many calories you’re consuming. An online app like my fitness pal will help you calculate the calories. My experience is that by no longer eating bread potatoes and pasta the weight started coming off. Also no biscuits sugar et cetera. It really means that you need to plan ahead what food you are going to eat at work and At home so that you are not tempted to buy high calorie ready-made food.

I wish you every success

Thanks pcrw. When I'm good I'm very good and when I'm bad I'm awful. Haha. I don't actually eat when I'm at work and I'm a strict vegetarian nearly vegan and wheat intolerant . I lost my weight with the 21 day plan and it was very good but trying to keep up the exercise every day and doing an active job as well was sooooo difficult. But your right ....planning ahead is a necessary chore. I need to decide what to eat and when......thanks I appreciate the advice.

I think that might be the problem Lastditchattempt

Actual fat loss is slow and cannot be done rapidly. Then to keep the fat off any changes need to be permanent. 😕

It’s a bit of a cliche but so very true, our bodies need fuel just like a car. Please read all the recommendations and try to eat the correct number of calories, as well as eating good quality nutritious foods. 😊

You can do it! I'm using Xmas for my time frame too. I was trying to lose 20lbs by then but I'll be happy if I lose 15

Five years ago I lost 25 pounds and put it all back on and then some. It is very frustrating! I wish you luck. We can do it!
