I've recently taken up hiking on the weekends to increase my exercise and I'm really enjoying it. I'm still suffering a bit from the extra long walk I did on Saturday but I came across some stunning views. Does anyone else do hiking?

Hiking
Lovely pics, Pseud0nym
I don't hike, per se, but I do like to go for long walks
Thanks It was going to be my active challenge entry but since I missed the deadline I decided to post anyway.
If you've got a picture of yourself hiking, you can enter it for this week's mini challenge?
Log onto the Kicking the K's challenge and start logging all the K's that you're hiking
I try to avoid taking photos of myself, I always come out looking terrible.
That's just your opinion and the way we feel about ourselves, but you'll be glad to have a visual record of how far you've come
I have never figured out the difference between walking and hiking. My family did like to go hiking in the mountains when I was growing up but I don't seem to do a lot of it here. Lack of knowledge of the local area I suppose.
I love your pictures Pseud0nym , where abouts did you go?
I know, there are so many names; walking, hiking, rambling, trekking...
I went to Pembrey Country Park in south west Wales, it's fairly close to where I live and seems to have pretty much everything - beach, forest, lake... even a ski slope and toboggan, though I didn't try those!
Great to find a healthy activity which you enjoy
I agree my brisk walk is energising and stress relieving . From someone who parked as close to my destination as possible that's saying something!
YESssss!! We love it 😍! We did the Budleigh Salterton to Exmouth coastal path (devon) on Sat (@ 10 miles) - our dog 🐶 gets us out x
Brilliant. I always feel like I should have a dog with me, I bet yours loves being out and about for such a long walk!
Hello yes I do. I started age 46 and have climbed all the hills over 2000 feet in England and Wales. Also now done some Munros and alpine treks in Europe. I was active but have never liked standard exercise and gyms. It gave me a new lease of life and as a young widow I met my now husband!! I need to lose 2 stones which does impede me but go for it. I'm 60 and I've got plans to do bigger things. Ros
Oh that's brilliant conquering all those hills! I've never even made it up Pen Y Fan - one day! (Perhaps I'll meet my future husband too ;))
Am well impressed with all that climbing & hiking!! You must have some awesome pics x I suspect your weight gain is all that eatingout/cooking for your new hubby x hello & welcome x
Aw thank you, some weight gain is through portion size, some stress eating. I've always had an issue with my weight starting very young like many of us when I thought I was fat but wasn't. 2 stone loss will take me to top end BMI so not doing it to be skinny. I became really overweight when my husband was gravely ill. Yes we have amazing photos due to my husband being a photographer. Thank you
I love the photos. I too love hiking and I'm off for a hike today. I started when I was 40 after I gave up smoking and now I'm nearly 70, it is the one exercise I really enjoy. I think it's a great way to be part of the scenery and the changing seasons.
Do I see Rhossili in those pics? Beautiful. I consider myself to be a walker, because I can't do it quickly enough to be considered a hiker! . But I do enjoy it and am certain that it's very good for ones health! Lovely pics and thanks for sharing them 😊 Long may the hiking continue!
