Hi there, I don't know if you know how many calories you should be having every day. Check your bmi on the bmi calculator and this will tell you how many calories you should eat between and start around the top and gradually lower the amounts to lose by about 100cals a time until you find the amount that works for you. This is because before I started here I never used to even eat enough calories to reach my lowest amount and this was my problem because my body thought I was starving it and turned everything I ate into body fat and this weighs more than eating the extra calories does so it stops you from losing weight and sometimes puts weight on instead. Please don't make this same mistake. Good luck with your journey.

hello I strongly recommend the NHS 12 week weight loss plan- I lost just under 2 stone which what I wanted to do. Its calorie counting- I stuck to the 1400 cals/day for a woman however when I ate more I was ok with it as long as I did not go over the my upper range suggested by the BMI calculator. There are other diets that forum members are on and it works for them, however the thing I like about the NHS plan is that its about changing your habits gradually and increasing your exercise basically changing to a healthier lifestyle to improve chances of maintaining it in the long term. Good luck and there will be someone responding to any questions you may have or when you fall off the wagon- everyone seems to at some stage- the main thing is to find out what triggered it and ask for help and suggestions on how to avoid the trigger in the future. Some ideas will work for you and some won't its just trying them out and finding what suits you.
Thank you for your message, I feel really determined that this will be a life changer for me rather than a diet. My husband and I are ready to make the changes because we are both feeling so unhealthy. I'm sick of going to bed with tummy ache from over eating and just feeling absolutely exhausted all the time. Time to break the comfort eating habit!
