Too old/fat to run ?

I'm almost 60 & have lost 2.5 stone. I'm nowhere near the proper weight for my height, so there's a long way to go.

I wondered if anyone similar has attempted to start running ? I'd really like to give it a try, but am concerned that I may be too old, or whether I should lose more weight beforehand ?

Check with your gp if you aren't sure and maybe start with the NHS couch to 5k plan?

Funny enough, I've downloaded the app tonight ☺️

agree with Concerned and Iderservethis - check with your GP or nurse first :)

My knees and ankles won't let me jog, I tried - So I try and walk - I have taken to walking on the spot when adverts come on the TV in the evenings :)

A lot would depend on your general fitness, and what you do already, but it's never too late to improve your fitness 😊 Good Luck!! Many on here use the Couch to 5k podcasts

Hi

Thanks ☺️ I do zumba 5-6 times a week & always walk up to my 2nd floor office.

I've downloaded the app, so I'll have a look at the podcasts

The beauty of C25k is that you start slowly and build up 😊

Good luck!

Thanks Anna :-)

Try cycling easier on the joints and very enjoyable. Average 3 miles a day sometimes up to 10 miles myself and I am 63 years old

Thanks Steve, that's a good idea :-)
