Is it bad...

That I'm having to add food to my tea to boost my calorie intake as I'd barely reached 1000 calories today including my tea. I was busy working in the maternity theatres so didn't get my "dinner" until 2.30am. Had breakfast before I went to bed. I must admit I woke up rather peckish tonight. I fancied my take on sausage & egg mcmuffin. So when I'd totted up the protein thin, egg and quorn sausage patty with my salad I was in deficit. I added half an avocado and a tbs cheese to the sandwich. It tasted heavenly! I'm trying not to eat between meals as working nights, I really have to avoid munchies.

hi AliParsnips. Waking up feeling peckish is a good sign!!

It is going to take some time to get used and find a pattern of eating that suits you. But do try to eat the amount of calories set by the BMI calculator - it seems a ridiculous amount of food to be eating but whatever the science is behind it seems to work, well for me anyway. I have only been controlling my calories since Tuesday and I notice a big difference. Though I have to be honest today I am fed up with food (Never thought those words would come out my mouth!!!) but I am sure that is only temporary.

Keep an energy bar in your pocket for those times when work takes precedent over food.

According to the bmi calculator I should be eating 1600 calories which Is why I'm concerned. Definitely need to reassess my diet.

Mine is between 1600-2100. Since Tuesday I am eating on average 1800 per day. It was hard at first to even reach this amount with healthy foods (junk food would be no problem haha). What I have learned is that it takes time and practice and ALOT of patience. You will get there.

look into eating nuts in between meals if you need to eat a bit more. Only a few nuts can give you a good amount of calories.
