Whoops - Friday night is the only night I have an alcoholic drink and it seems that 2 glasses of wine π· and a small whiskey π₯ - (most Friday I only have wine) and the ice cream demon are somehow closely linked.
Thank goodness I only had salad π₯ for dinner. Still makes me 200 calories over for the day - glad I did 4 hours kitchen fitting - I'm guessing I'll just about break even (I know it's probably just wishful thing), but I am still pleased with progress so far and I refuse to beat myself up over a momentary lapse.
Goal for next week - make sure there is no ice cream in the house and only wine π· On Friday night.
The lessons I learnt today -
2 alcohol drinks are my limit,
If it is the house I'll eat it
Eat before shopping, and finally
If I have a bump in the road it doesn't mean I can't complete the journey

I went 'off piste' last night in a pretty big way ... π³ My daughter brought in a bag of chocolates for me. In my head I heard the words, "Thank you, but no" ... alas this was not the reality of the situation, and when I was 'back in the room' I had wolfed an extra 700 empty calories, putting me well over my daily allowance ... π³π³π³
Like you, I'm just going to see it as a 'bump in the road' and start again today with a clean slate.
Any damage caused will only show up early next week. I drink a lot less now than I did, but like a few pints on the weekend. I have found that a few beers cause me to gain a bit of water weigh. Something to do with your bodies reaction to the diuretic effect of booze I read. So leave it a couple of days before getting on the scales. I reckon the damage will be minimal, but your learning points sound very sensible.
