My little boy is 8 months old. We had a lot of issues with breastfeeding in the first few months and I became quite depressed.
I never managed to lose my baby weight esp my belly and it hasn't really bothered me until we have booked a holiday for 4 weeks time! I also went to the docs today and when she weighed me told me I'm classed as obese!
Left there feeling absolutely rubbish bur know I need to lose weight. I don't eat unhealthy, don't snack much so not sure where to start!! Any help?

Try and take in as much of what Rose has mentioned as possible but at the same time try and take into account that it's not all do-able at once and it's not a race. Maybe try changing a few things at a time and get them to stick.

Hi jodie1984; welcome. This is a great place to start. There is lots of great advice and support. As Tiggerr says, it is not a quick fix, but good steady progress to where you want to be. You may find that being a new mum means you are unable to do the exercise that you did or you grab what is to hand as it is quicker. I know I was like that when I was a new mum. Being tired does not help. Take it one step at a time and get involved with this site. I am pleased that I did a few weeks ago. Have a great first week.
Were you over weight before you had the baby or has this all happened since? Is this baby your first?
My little boy wouldnt breast feed either and I was over anxious about him needing to be breast fed. For many weeks I exhausted myself expressing from boobs into a bottle. If I could turn the clock back I would have bottle fed a lot sooner and I would have mixed bottle and breast for my first child who was soley breastfed. Not for convinence reasons but because I have discovered since that I am low on some essential vitamins especailly vit D and B12 and bottle feeding would have helped make up for what would have been lacking in my milk. Go easy on yourself and give yourself time, there is no hurry for you to lose this weight and you holiday is going to be very different with with a new baby. That baby is going to decide what kind of holiday you have and I would be very suprised if he lets you spend much time sunbathing in a bikini.
Also my mum was very over weight or obese but she was the best cuddle in the world and I cant imagine how a thin person could provide such a soft, squashy, yummy cuddle. There are some good reasons to lose weight but also there is some real lovelyness in just being who you are.
I think most of the bad things that happen to our health or socail circumstances are often bought on by fear of those things not by those things themselves. Whether you have a heart attack as a result of stress as been shown to be more about whether you enjoy stress or try to avoid. Those who try to avoid get ill and studies into longevity have shown that overweight people tend to live longer than those considered to be the right weight and actually much longer than underweight people so chill and relax and take your time.
Thank youbfor your reply Mandy Jane 😊 I know I need to lose weight but am a size 16 bottom (mainly because of my legs!) and size 14 top so thought I was overweight but wouldn't have classed myself as obese!
My little boy is my first, We didn't switch to bottles till 4 months and within those 4 months I had mastitis 8 times so rarely went out etc.
We only completely stopped breastfeeding about 6 weeks ago so I am still quite large in the bust so don't think that's helping (I've always been big chested!)
I need to lose a little bit from everywhere really to still look in proportion if that makes sense apart from my baby belly!
