Hi. If you want to lose weight you know you will need to cut calories somewhere. Personally I have out bread completely but lots of people on here seem to have a bit of it by calorie counting. 🤞
You can still have both but have LESS of them and include them in your daily calorie allowance . I know that seems boring but its the only way if you want to get your slim figure and keep it long term.
Two things that helped me :
1. swap white bread for sliced wholemeal, keep it in the freezer and just take out a slice or two for your toast or sandwich. I used to love crusty white /ciabatta etc etc but can honestly say that it no longer likes me and I feel lighter and better without it.
2. Use a measure for your wine. I made a 125 ml mark on a wine glass with a dot of nail varnish ( or you can get a free glass from Drink Awareness that shows millilitres and alcohol units for wine, beer, gin et)
Some people just ban some foods, but personally I think if you allow yourself some of them, you've more chance of longterm success and sanity !!
I've been on my weight loss journey for over 5 years. Over that time, I've had to make choices about what I put into my body. Especially now that I am close to my goal weight (11lbs to lose) that has become even more important.
I try to fuel my body with foods that are better for me and don't provide "empty" calories (calories that make you feel good or full but you feel hungry again soon after eating them. The other thing about alcohol is that it lowers your ability to make wise choices and leads to alcohol fuelled munchies! Been there!
Bread really provides very little value in terms of goodness. I eat it rarely now.
I was reading an article yesterday about processed carbs which you might find useful.
