hi guys, ive just joined and i am really motivated to loose this unwanted weight. i hope that i can get some ideas and advice to guide me in the right direction to achieve my goal. thankyou i advance

Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), or in the drop down on the 'Posts' page (it says 'arrange by'). Read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you.

Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news.

Take a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate.

We run daily weigh-in's and you'd be very welcome to join us. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the HOME page, bottom on a mobile.

We also run a Daily Diary, where we share our meal and exercise plans for the day. It's a great place to get ideas and to keep us focused. The link can also be found in Events.

Be aware, that the HU app doesn't give you access to all of our important features, so we advise that you use the full website page.

We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too.

I'm new here to but I already love this place. Everyone is so encourging and gives wonderful ideas about losing weight.

Are you doing the nhs 12 week plan or just doing it with your own ideas?

Advice lets see

a) make small changes they are easier to stick to (sugar swaps, apple instead of chocolate)

b) be more active, a short walk, dance round the house, dig the garden it all adds up

c) set small goals (7lbs is easier than several stone)

d) reward every achievement (non-food of course)

e) keep track of calories (my fitness pal app is good and free)

f) keep active on the forum it really does make a difference

g) your going to have slips, bad days the trick is to get back on track as quickly as possible

h) enjoy what your doing, if it's not fun you will lose interest

g) find an activity you want to do (swimming, tennis, jogging) build it into your routine (I found going swimming on the way home from work was best for me as once home I didn't want to go back out)

h) use distractions to stop snacking, a walk, paint your nails, read a book

g) the most important relax and have fun

That just leaves me to wish you good luck on your journey

You are at the right place :) Try as much as possible to visit this page and share with everyone. I joined not long ago. It is barely a week now. And I can confidently say people here are lovely and we are gonna cheer you on and encourage you in your journey of weight lose.

Welcome, I am new to posting this week too, although I joined a while again and read loads of posts before I had the courage to post anything.

The people on this forum are brilliant and with their help and support I think we will all get to where we want to be on our weight loss journey.
