Struggle
I suffer with depression too. I am finding that exercise is a real blessing, it really lifts my mood and has the added side effect of helping with weight loss.
I take meds which make me ravenously hungry ( i could eat an entire cake and still keep going). So you need lots of control especially when you are feeling low. I'm a big fan of the fitness apps "the Walk" and "Zombies Run!" Both of these have helped me get my backside in gear, I'm quite isolated where I am and have few friends close by so its nice to have something to encourage me out doors.
I hope you aren't currently low x
Hi traya110
Welcome to the weight loss forum.
Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.
Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.
Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.
We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.
To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.
Have a good first week.

I get low when I feel out of control of my life. Taking control of my health by writing down what I eat has been a huge help in weight loss.
Also, I find taking control of my surroundings; chucking out old clothes, painting and cleaning any worn or scuffy areas in the home; repairing or replacing furniture, curtains etc all helps me feel in control of my life. (It is still a work in progress....)
My next task is; filing all the mountains of paperwork! Then, if I have exercised with the dogs, I will sleep better and feel brighter the next day.
I hope you feel up to planning your healthy menus and exercise, and let us know how things go - we are all in it with you!
