Hi I'm Liza. I've struggled my entire life with my weight. Current on a weight increase phase that needs to be stopped before I put back on all I lost over the previous two years. My heart knows what I want my brain is not with the program! Looking for support and similar people who understand without having to spell it all out!

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

You will get lots of support and encouragement from this friendly forum as we are all in the same boat. Onwards and downwards.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.

Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.

We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.

To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.

You are not alone. It is really, really hard. I started again on Monday. The only advice that I have right now is to make a list of everything you like...ESPECIALLY ( the snacks) .Then see if there is a low/zero fat/sugar alternative. I did that last night and went to the supermarket at midnight so there were not a lot of people around and I read the labels on everything I bought. Or write it all down and do not pick up anything other than the list. I found it really helpful.Just a thought.

Hi Liza I have had the same issues.

I have been overweight/obese since I was a kid and had one phase in my life where I got down 82 kg's and was SO happy with my weight.

10 years later I am at 137 kg and have no idea how it happened but all we can do is take a deep breath, not berate ourselves for past failures and look to the future with hope and imagine ourselves healthy again.

Meditation is a great little thing to try each day.

I have done it off and on for years but I downloaded a free app called "Headpsace" a couple days ago which guides you through sessions.

Worth a look if you are interested.
