Hello, just weighed myself today and have noticed I'm almost at the heaviest I've ever been! (15' 12 +1/4!!) Its definitely time to get healthy and change my diet- Although I think I need to cut out the beer n wine too. I enjoy hiking and running /exercise but lately I've fallen out of routine. Any advice support most welcome. Thanks Andy

Hi Andy, I am started running 11 months ago and ran a half marathon last month but my weight has steadily indpcresaed despite this! I'agine hoe much easier hiking and running will be when we're trimmer. I am at my heaviest at 14stone and. Would like to get to at least 11stone. I will keep on running and think calorie counting will really help me with portion control and reducing the booze intake! I am told that weight lifting is good for fat burning so am going to try and build this in too soon.

I will kick off tomorrow - Good luck!

Thanks Fiona, yes I totally agree calorie counting and portion control def the way to go (the latter is my downfall). Good luck with the running I wouldn't be disheartened by weight gains at start of running as its usually muscle build up. I've ran 1 marathon and a few half's too -a lot of fun and a great way to set aims. Cheers

There's lots of runners on this site Andy - why dont you hook up with a few for some extra motivation. There's often some mini challenges going on to help people get moving and support each other. Have a look at the 'pinned posts' - there's a 'hare and tortoise running club' , and also a 'Mad March Hare exercise challenge' - either of those might help you get back into routine.

Good luck!

That's great, I wasn't aware there was so much help & info on here. I'll check out the challenges just now. Thanks
