Hello faayex and welcome to the weight loss forum ☺

The first place to look is at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you ☺

Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news ☺

Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Also use the BMI checker to find your target calories, it's important to eat enough. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate ☺

The forum also have group weigh-ins every day, but they are quite busy. If you wish to take part Sunday is the quietest day but you are welcome to join any day. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the 'home' page, or at the very bottom (after all the posts) on a mobile.☺

We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too ☺

You'll notice a grey box next to people's names, these are achievement badges, and as a new member you may have a 'Newbie' badge. If you have any questions or would like a Newbie badge please just ask ☺

Best wishes

Anna

Welcome to the site @fayex all the best with your journey and do make sure you check your bmi on the NHS website.

This will give you an amount of calories with which you should stick between, I used to eat less than my bmi told me and always struggled with losing weight. I was then informed on here that by not enough, your body thinks that you are making it starve and then it turns what you do eat into body fat, this is heavier so you always put on weight.

Another thing that would be good to do is swap any sugars that you do have in hot drinks or on cereal etc would be to swap this to sweeteners. Gradually this can then reduce the amount that you have. I used to have 2 sugars in hot drinks and now I have 1 sweetener. This was years ago I done this, but at the time I lost 3 stone. I loved it.

Don't be afraid to ask any questions on this site as this site is very friendly and helpful and there will always be someone who will have an answer for you. Good luck with your journey and all the best! 👍🙏🤞
