I'm 53 and currently going through menopause. I am the heaviest I have ever been (67.7 KG) and have gone up two dress sizes, I would say in the last year... I don't like myself at this weight and most of it seems to be round my tummy and back (bum and boobs too)My diet currently is eating anything and everything I can find to the point that I feel I may burst.. so for example, if I'm having fruit, say grapes, I don't just eat a handful... I eat the whole punnet, same with biscuits, crisps, I eat a larger dinner than my six foot husband and then will go looking for desert and then an hour later, cheese and crackers... a whole packet of them and a whole tub of philadelphia.. you get the picture? On top of this diet, I do no exercise, whatsoever... I used to dance, Jive, three times a week for three hours and had a figure to match... I don't know where or when my lifestyle changed other than going through the menovcaused.....ooops a little slip there... menopause.. Need help and fast...

Hi Deb118 and welcome. YellowRose55 has summed it all up nicely.
I'm the same age as you and am in my seventh week of the NHS 12 week plan. I've had some ups and downs but have mostly stuck to it and have achieved far more than I thought was possible.
Ah so pleased its working for you... I am definitely in need of inspiration of others for the push along that I need.. feel very unhappy with myself and the weight I have piled on not only as its a big change from my size 10, but as a major health worry too...
Onwards and upwards as they say... of should I say DOWNWARDS
You can do it, a lot of us around your age. Hormones have a lot to answer for 😈
It's making those initial changes thats the hardest - Changing your mindset into "I do care about myself" Once you start eating healthier and take up even just a gentle walk and with spring nearly here you will feel so much better and thats motivation enough 😀
10st 6lbs doesn't sound too bad, I'm sure you can regain your control and lose the extra pounds you'd like to.
What is your ideal weight ?
We are all really supportive here and will help in any way we can to get you back on track to a healthy eating plan.
Jiving sounds brilliant and maybe that's something you could start up again, I love dancing but usually around my own home. I haven't got the moves that should be unleashed in public.
The 12 week plan was great for me to get me eating healthily & more conscious of calories & nutrition. The couch 25k program has also really helped me to regulate my hormonal cravings (am also menopausal!).
Both programs are free and a brilliant investment in your own health.
