Has anyone got any idea what is best to have from an Indian take-away and average calories? It's my Husbands 40th Birthday on Thursday and he really wants a take-away. we've both been dieting for the last 3 weeks, he's done really well and lost 11lb, me 9lb so don't want to blow it in one meal!

I've read a few really good threads on this subject in the past so have a dig around in the archives! But basically go for DRY - so tandoori type things, or TOMATO based sauces. Avoid the pale ones which is basically ghee, butter, cream, coconut. Yummy but definitely undoing. Veg side dishes arent too bad like spinach, or chick peas, or okra. Plain boiled rice. Dont even look at the naan. Poppabums arent too bad but try not to dip them in creamy things.
Thank you, naan's my favourite but I knew that'd be out of the question but I do like a poppadom! So i guess a Saag might be ok then with boiled rice and a poppadom.....
Anything without a sauce so maybe a tandoori dish, boiled rice and a chapati instead of naan bread? We got a takeaway the other night and got bags of salad which were lovely with the chicken. You could always buy some natural yogurt if you wanted a low fat sauce? The other option is maybe a tomato based sauce instead of cream based. Whatever you have enjoy it!
My Fitness pal says that 300g of Chicken Saag is 290 cal. Popadom 35 cal on average. Take-away boiled rice 150g 203 cal. So if I'm really careful through the day I should be able to do it. Thanks everyone for your ideas. :0)
