I stopped smoking 17 months ago and put on 2 stone now my aim is to lose it. Eating lots fruit & veg fish some meat not a fan of meat. Bought myself wii fit and love my new life. Not easy as I work in an office 3 days a week so I set alarm on phone to remind me to drink more water. Fit bit tells me to take a walk. What more can I do? If the boss doesn't then he know what he can do as he changed my job.

Not sure how this works
Hi bonny64 and welcome. Well done for giving up smoking that's awesome.
I'm sure someone will supply you with more detailed info but you may wish to check out the NHS 12 week plan which a fair number of people follow. If you're using a computer it should be somewhere on the right hand side of the screen.
Sounds like you're already doing a number of good things. Good luck!
Hi and welcome bonny
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news
Have a look at the 12 week plan, as many people have been successful following it. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate
Although the majority of our daily weigh-in's are now quite full, we still have some spaces and Sunday's is very quiet, you'd be very welcome to join us. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too
It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey
I stopped smoking after 43 years as out on 3 stone.I would say try to walk for 30 minutes everyday add cut down on bread.
Hi well done for giving up smoking, I gave up now over 10 years ago and it was one of the hardest things I've done but one of the best. I suggest to apply the same principles as you did when you gave up smoking, spend some time planning how are you going to lose weight (the 12 week plan and this forum will give you plenty of ideas) and also what will you do to deal with cravings... for me exercise was what kept me going feeling better gradually, I find it helps me keeping busy in the evenings, going out to yoga, running or planning to do something different than just watching tv, even if it's just listening to the radio instead while doing some work around the house...all the best!
Thank you salad for reading my post. Cravings haven't been a problem as I never think about smoking anymore. I'm 65 and for the first time in my life I have a weight problem. Good job spring is round the corner 😎 To get out and about . Thanks again.
Hope thing are still ok with you.
Plan, it's the only way, and count, my advice to you, it's tough , you need to develop good habits within your calorie allowance ( calculators for basic metabolic rate out there, google), some do 5:2, others calorie controlled plans, like the 12 week one.
The NHS 12 week plan, gives a good basis for things like portion control too, it's always helped me
