Enough is enough now. 17st in too heavy. Clothes don't fit, I've no energy and I am experiencing other health issues especially around heartburn. Does anyone have any tips re exercise program to do?

hi. I joined a gym when I started on this weightloss plan... I weigh 18st and I swim at least 3 times a week and do a zumba class each week as well.. I walk for 1/2hr in my lunch break as well.. if your not used to exercising then walking a bit more is a great way to start. I've also got a fitbit and that really motivates me to move more x

I would do a daily walk 20-30 mins to start and look into what exercise classes are available near you Good luck wishing you every success 😉

Hello Deavo and welcome to the weight loss forum ☺

Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you. There is an exercise one starting organised by TheJuggler you may like to join? ☺

Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news ☺

Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate ☺

The majority of our daily weigh-in's are now full, but we still have spaces in Thursday and Saturday, which you'd be very welcome to join. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.☺

We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too ☺

Best wishes

Anna

I was 16st. I'm 6'1" so that's 3st I need to lose and I seem to be getting there. I don't know what your target weight it. As suggested, walking is always good. I am lucky in that I mainly work from home so can go for a run at lunch time, but most people are not so fortunate. But weight loss is mainly about what you eat. I don't count calories but it really seems to be the recommended advice for most people, so maybe you should start with that, and devise a plan for reducing it? The NHS 12 step plan is really useful. Even if you decide, like me, not to follow it, it is packed with good tips. And at the end of the day weight loss is about creating a calorie deficit. You've just got to find the method that works for you.

I think the NHS couch 25 k program is really good. It takes you on a 9 week journey (3x per week) & helps you build up stamina and fitness bit by bit. There are also other fitness ideas on the NHS website. - worth a look!
