Is there a good day to start

I wondered if there was a good day to start? Monday seems to come and go with the saying I will start next Monday. Friday seems to be here with oh well it's the weekend. So does anyone know what day is a good day

Today is always the best day I feel rather than putting it off. Some people do plan on a day. I think fri or Saturday weigh in is good as over the weekend people seem to 'go off the wagon' more so I think Monday is not a good weighin day.

I agree with Ella that there is no time like the present to start or restart good habits. Don't postpone.

I have always preferred weighing-in on Mondays because I thought it gave me an incentive to give myself an extra push during weekends. But two weeks ago I switched to Tuesdays because Mondays were too crowded and in all honesty, it makes no difference.

Now Tuesday's weigh-in is full too, so why not start with a weigh-in Wednesday morning? Perhaps today you can make preparations, like emptying cupboards of biscuits, chips and stuff and replacing it with healthy alternatives.

Are you following the NHS 12 week plan? Then perhaps read through the first week, find out what your calorie range is, set yourself some long term and realistic short term goals and acquaint yourself with a calorie counter like My Fitness Pal.

I hope you have a flying start and a fantastic first week!

Hi ,

Whatever day we start , we still have 7 days and we hit the weekend sooner or later. As previously stated no time like today . Good luck.

Today is a good day, no matter which day it is. Just start today!

I started the Happiness Challenge on a Tuesday, gave up Diet Coke on a Sunday and sweets on a Monday. I started recording/ counting calories on a Wednesday and stopped drinking all sodas on a Thursday. These are all habits I still keep, as much as 5 years later.

You see, the day of the week doesn't matter. The only day that is importantis today. Good luck!

Hello, of course your body doesn't know it's the weekend or Monday, or whatever, so starting today is as good as starting on any other day. Stick to your diet and 7 days later you'll have lost a few pounds! Psychologically, you might find Monday is a good day because you;ve got 5 days before the weekend. On the other hand, starting Saturday can be quite good if it disciplines you not to spend the weekend eating and drinking so you can "start on Monday"!

Whatever day we start our diets, though, we all have to accept that we need to string quite a few dieting days together to lose weight, and will therefore need to cope with weekends, holidays, special occasions etc and not be blown off course by them.

I know that everyone's circumstances are very different but I find the Wednesday weigh in good for me. In my case we have family times at weekend where I may overindulge a little bit. We may have meals out drinks etc.. it just gives me chance to cut back and exercise a little bit to compensate for the overindulgence at weekend (if necessary). I joined the my fitness pal at weekend (after reading on this site how useful it is) and it really is helpful. I had lost 5lb (losing my Christmas weight) up to last Wednesdays weigh in so I am hoping for another loss tomorrow. FINGERS AND TOES CROSSED Onward and downward 🌝🌝
