Are your diet mistakes slowing your metabolism?
Interesting article. I'm guilty of white carbs and not eating protein in every meal. Otherwise I think I can tick all the others. But I know what my problem is - eating too much! Portion size is my downfall.
Interesting, but I won't be drinking the suggested glassful of milk before bedtime.
Hello,
I think it's mostly sensible stuff. Probably each individual thing makes a relatively small difference, but together they would add up, and anyway eating protein, dairy, avoiding pesticides etc is all good.
I'm particularly happy if the vitamin D bit is right, as I'm currently on a triple dose vitamin D supplement having been found deficient in a blood test. If it boosts my calorie burn as well as protecting bones and lifting depression, I'll be delighted!
One thing I do wonder about, though, is the suggestion about "healthy snacks". I think there seems to be a real difference of opinion as to the value of snacks. Here they are saying it keeps your metabolism going, but then there is the counter argument that intermittent fasting is good for you. I tend to think it's best to avoid snacking - I think there is some good in getting away from the idea that you've always got to be within sight and smell of the next meal.
But I don;t think we've got the definitive answer as to which is best.
