Hi and welcome, Jo
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news
Have a look at the 12 week plan, as many people have been successful with it. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate
I see you've mentioned the generic amount of 1400 calories, so would urge you to read this too

We run daily weigh-in's, but Monday's and Tuesday's are full. You would be very welcome to join any, between Wednesday and Saturday and the threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too
It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey
Hi Hidden and welcome to the forum, hope you do well with the weightloss.
If there is anything that you want to ask please don't be afraid to ask as there is always someone that will answer you as the people on this site are very friendly.
We have badges that you can receive that come in newbie, 7lbs, 1st etc. If you want a badge just ask for them. One of the administrators will pass them on.
Good luck!
Could you eat your evening meal a little bit later?
Or make a big batch of vegetable soup and have that as a later supper?
Hello Hidden 😊 Welcome to the Forum 😊
Evening nibbling is a tough one 😕 Could you save some calories from through the day for an evening snack? The longer you stick to plan the easier it becomes as the new regime becomes habit 😊 I find I rarely need the extra evening snack now but it took a while😊
Welcome to the forum. I have read somewhere at some stage that people confuse hunger with thirst so you could be thirsty. Or try finding something to do between that time to keep you occupied or like grannynise has asked could you eat your meal later.
Thank you every one for your comments, i am drinking 2 liters of fluid a day at the moment and i have printed off the nhs 12 week plan and i am also using the nhs calorie checker, already i am feeling its hard work and i guess its all down to determination, also i am starting swimming next week,..Its great to know i have people who will assist in advice ..
Thanks Guys...
try sleeping get at least a eight hour sleep, so maybe when you get peckish, you could distract yourself with your bath or shower routine.
I find if I watch tv, I need to pick all the time. So I need to take up colouring so I have something to do with my hands while watching tv with my husband.
i finally went swimming today after a break of 6 weeks and managed 20 laps loool i must say im feeling rather proud of myself (makes a change)
