Hi - introducing myself and how do you weigh in?

Hi everyone - I'm new - just starting Week 2 - it's great to see so many people going through the same thing as me!

I'm 103.3 kg (16 st 4 lb) this morning, compared with 104.4 kg (16 st 6 lb) at the beginning of Week 1.

I'm now entering Week 2 with careful optimism. I'm really enjoying the extra activity, and am getting ready (scouting out flattish routes, upgrading bike) with a view to doing British Cycling's Sofa to 50 km training. I have to be careful to avoid bursitis though, so will take it gently at first. At the moment I'm cycling on an exercise bike on horrible days and my mountain bike on good days.

One of my main weight loss goals is trying to get my blood pressure down without medication. Last week, my BP was still too high overall but I'm getting more lower readings (in the pre-hypertension rather than hypertension range) in the past week than before which is really helpful, as I'm following the DASH diet (for lowering blood pressure) while using the NHS overall programme as a structure. I have also given up coffee. I feel more sluggish in the mornings but it's better than the side-effects of the meds I tried.

Is there somewhere you weigh in to get the badges or does admin add them for you?

Onwards and downwards! (love that slogan...)

Hello mayaena

Welcome to the Weight Loss Forum ☺and very well done on losing 2lbs in your first week ☺ The forum has weigh in threads on 6 days of the week that you are welcome to join. Unfortunately, Monday's group is fully subscribed but you are welcome to join any of the others ☺

Have a good look around the forum especially the Newbies post (in the Pinned Posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile) ☺There are regular challenges and progress 'badges' including a 'Newbie' one for when you first join the forum. If you would like one just ask ☺

Good luck with the cycling, I also have an exercise bike and am not very confident on a normal one but hope to change that soon ☺

Don't forget to take your initial measurements and photographs as it's a great way of seeing just how far you've come, especially when the scales aren't co-operating. ☺

We are a very friendly group so please ask if you have any questions ☺

Best wishes

Anna
