Well I'm REALLY ashamed to be putting this post up as I was on such a roll, I have been away for the weekend and my 4lb loss on Friday has turned into a 5lbs gain on Tuesday I'm really not happy, Although we have been eating out we have only had brekkie and evening meals no lunch, apart from one evening at Pizza hut and for conveinience yesterday I did burger and chips the other meals have been within cals I was expecting a gain but not 5lbs I'm really upset. but I have to deal with it so will pick myself up and get on. Have a good day everyone x x This is sad Betty -:( lol

Well if it went on that quickly, the plus side is it should come off again just as fast! Hang on in there. 😊

Chin up and keep going - if you do you know it will come off again - don't let your disappointment knock you permanently off track

Despite your disappointment, at least you're conscious of the fact that intake may not have been as wholesome in recent days, so you can at least account for the increase.

Over the next few days, a return to usual eating habits, re-introduction of a daily deficit and increased uptake of exercise may help to reverse some of what you've gained before Friday's weigh in.

Try to over criticize yourself too much. We're only human. Like you wrote, just pick yourself up and start again. Maybe try to plan ahead about calories, what to order, etc. next time? I know things don't always go according to plan, but it's worth trying.

OK Thank you will keep that in mind x x

I feel for you Charley65 😕 I find after a weekend away, with the travelling, change of water etc I can easily gain 5lb, but it disappears almost as fast if I can get straight back on plan. ☺ it's pretty hard to gain 5lb of fat so I'm guessing it's fluid or another fluctuation ☺ Please don't despair, we want Happy Betty back ☺

I have to get the 5lbs plus more off as I have to see the nurse next week when I saw her a couple of weeks ago she wasn't happy but allowed for the fact it was xmas but she followed it up with if I don't lose next time she see's me I won't be going back there for help, I surpose she justified x x -:)

Don't stress over it just work hard and do your best that's all you can do. Let us know how you get on with her.

I don't know if you are in the U.K. I have been to the doc's today for another issue but mentioned my weight loss and asked to be referred to the gym/leisure centre for help with exercise so am awaiting them getting back to me.

Couldn't agree more with what everyone else has said, some sound advice there. You've had a minor blip. It's now in the past so try not to let it get you down, the future has more losses to come so it will all come good and the gain will disappear soon enough, because you know how to tackle it. Don't let the blip destroy the feeling of happiness you gained from having your nice weekend away, life is for living, we're allowed to indulge from time to time as long as we hit the reset button afterwards. Onwards and downwards and good luck for next week! :-)

I think when you eat out the food is often much saltier than you would eat at home. The additional salt makes you retain water but now you're at home you'll be able to wee it out!
