January isn't easy...

I don't think I am the only one feeling this way! The dark evenings, starting to miss those Crimbo treats...

I'm not going to be too hard on myself if I stumble from the path and have ...er...two slices of swiss roll!! Today I also had mozzarella, tomato, avocado and spinach salad for lunch, some roast chicken and buttered baguette for supper and two generous slices of mango and a few strawberries.

Tomorrow is another day!

You're not alone Ruby8. I had a day off chocolate but succumbed to a giant bag of popcorn. Going back to work tomorrow so I'm hoping the structure will help.

I agree, I think first week back at work is a challenge plus it is so cold. Well done to everyone making healthy choices! Today two people who I have not seen for ages were amazed at my weight loss and both said it separately without even knowing I have changed my eating habits. This has given me a real boost!

Yesterday was the worst day, it was my first day back and I was surprised how low I felt. Today was a bit better!

Tomorrow will be easier still!

You're right, Ruby8.

After the excitement of Xmas (it's what keeps us going once the clocks fall back), there's seldom little to look forward to throughout the latter months of Winter.

However, a couple of weeks have past since the Winter Solstice and the nights are becoming marginally lighter; it'll not be long before we begin to witness a noticeable difference to the amount of daylight enjoyed.

Today's lunch sounded delicious and was full of summer colour. Just ensure that you continue to include it alongside salmon, for example, as its vitamin D content will help with the production of serotonin, a mood enhancing hormone.

Good advice MrNiceGuy ! We survive somehow don't we, just need to be creative about it!

Indeed we do. Try to find the silver-lining, regardless of how difficult or depressing the day may have been.

I have hobbies, photography, and knitting. Buying lovely colourful wool is my safe addiction!!

Aw, thank you HealthyTanja , to be honest, kind words like yours and others, go a long way to making a difference, and I kind of enjoy having little moan! ;-) Sometimes I think it's good to let it out. Generally I am a very happy person and find positivity comes naturally, I'm a positive action person! x

I know how you feel. I hate January with a passion. I try not to but I get edgy and irritable and find myself snapping at family for no good reason. I'm just hoping I can avoid chocolate as a comforter.

I feel you wa2un7 , it's a challenge isn't it? We just have to treat ourselves nicely I think, other kinds of treats maybe, and take one day at a time. Spring will come eventually!

xx
