Im taking my daughter to a city that never sleeps for her 18th in march. Ive just sighed up yesterday for a new me. My life is mental and my eating is dreadful just sugar and coffee. Any advice on eating simple foods to cope with my hectic life to loose a few stone and enjoy this amazing holiday. Many thanks.

Hello Newyork2017 and welcome to the forum☺ What a lovely reason for getting fitter and healthier ☺

Have a good look around the site, especially the newbies post and the links to the NHS 12 week plan, and please ask if you have any questions. Things are a little busy today but please bear with us ☺ I will take a note and try to get you a "newbies " badge shortly.

Best wishes

Anna

Hi, I know you will have a fabulous time and you will want to eat a lot while you are there. I would see sugar as poison until you go. Imagine you are allergic to it which in fact all of our bodies really are when we see the harm it can do. I have been amazed how much change cutting out all processed food has made to me. I do still eat sugar that is naturally occurring within fruit and veg but I make all my own food so don't get trapped by the sugar in sauces and yogurt etc. Good luck, it willl be worth it!! 🏙🗽✈️

No sugar!!! Just bought a weight watchers scale and found out im 33% fat. Not going to scream or cry just a wake up call to do something about it.

How do the scales know that?

Not sure you put in your age height ect stand on them and it tells you your weight fat bmi and water content. I bought them in sainsburys today.

In the past I found that oatcakes curbed my chocolate craving. Not advocating eating loads but for me snacking on one was enough to get over the craving.

Definite connection between eating enough carbohydrate and keeping blood sugar level and reducing cravings 😊 Oatcakes are great!!
