When I read week 2 of the 12 week NHS plan I thought oh bu**er, exercise. Then out of the blue I decided to try it! I knew mornings were no good with early starts at work, and evenings are for studying - then I thought lunch breaks. I mentioned in passing to some friends at work and before I knew it I was going for the first day of the C25K. It wasn't a great start fitness wise I am completely unfit, my chest was sore and my leg muscles were sore too. But it has been a 10 minutes now and I am starting to feel better then normal. I will give it another go but I am not optimistic as it was just so painful. we'll see.

Have you discovered the couch to 5k forum on here too? Also there are podcasts on the nhs c25k page which talk you through it. I found them really helpful. The main thing is to make sure you stay really slow while your body adjusts. Small changes, eventually you'll get there

well done you. I walk to work every say (15 mins) but try to walk about for 5 - 10 mins every hour as well. Best of all I try to get out for a walk each evening. 20 mins at least so that I do my 10,000 steps. I'm sure the fresh air helps to get a good sleep as well. Next week I'm going to try a bit of gentle jogging as well. Even brisk walking is a a positive change 😊
Fine artistic user name by the way! Well done for starting the exercise part - hang on in there! It gets easier so I'm told but am not that far along. Trying just to walk more regularly at the moment. Still - little steps eh?
